Ilona Teremi - Managing Solicitor Director
Ilona Teremi is a solicitor of more than 10 years with an expertise in developing strategic commercial outcomes for corporate clients. Ilona has spent approximately 8 of those years as an in-house lawyer for various large corporations.
Prior to Kreisson Legal, Ilona was the sole in house Corporate Counsel for Merck Sharp & Dohme (Australia) Pty Limited, a US based pharmaceutical company. Before this, Ilona spent several years as an in house lawyer for Coles Myer Ltd. Ilona previously worked in private practice in a commercial team and also spent several years with NRMA Ltd (now IAG) as a corporate lawyer.
Ilona has been involved in several significant projects:
1. Negotiated several substantial supply agreements worth in excess of $300 million combined;
2. Advised and drafted Shareholders and Subscription Agreements for an international company for capital raising in the sum of $US1.92 million;
3. Experience in drafting and negotiating range of Commercial agreements;
4. Advising corporate clients in regards to supplier dispute issues;
5. Preparation and implementation of various tender processes and policies;
6. Development of Contract Policies and Supplier Relationship Policies;
7. Experience in providing legal sign off on advertising and promotional materials to ensure trade practices compliance;
8. Experience in obtaining trade lottery permits for competitions and preparing associated terms and conditions;
9. Legal representative on a Privacy Team, which implemented business changes to comply with new privacy laws, from inception;
10. Advising clients on restraint of trade issues in regards to executive employment contracts;
11. Drafting executive employment contracts, letters of offer, position descriptions, human resources policies and statements;
12. Involved in making submissions to state governments in relation to proposed changes to tobacco and liquor laws;
13. Responsible for a corporate’s trademark portfolio and advised on intellectual property infringement issues;
14. Developing risk management and compliance strategies in relation to trade practices issues, food safety, smoking laws and gaming compliance for hotels;
15. Leading lawyer for the integration of liquor licenses into supermarkets in Victoria.
